COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--A judge lowered former Columbus Police officer Adam Coy's bond Tuesday from $3-million to $1-million, which Coy posted, and he was released from jail.

Coy was indicted on three charges, including murder, in connection to the shooting death of Andre Hill from December 22nd. Hill was unarmed at the time.

Coy's attorney argued that the high bond went against bail reform, and also that his client is cooperating with the investigation.

He also argued that Coy is not a flight risk.

Coy is still barred from having any contact with any CPD officers associated with the case.

There were protesters waiting outside the Franklin County Jail Tuesday, as Coy was released.
