AMBER Alert Canceled with Toddler Found Safe, Suspect Arrested

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The abduction of a one-year-old boy in Madison Township prompted an AMBER alert Tuesday, and ended with the suspect in custody, and the child back with his mother.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says 50-year-old William Hannah assaulted the child's mother with a gun at her home along Hatfield Court. A shot was fired during the assault, but no one was hurt by the gunfire. Hannah then took Soull Minnehan with him when he left.

The incident prompted the alert across Ohio, but Hannah's vehicle was spotted not far from the scene of the assault. Minnehan was reunited with his mother. Hannah was arrested and charged with kidnapping, domestic violence, and felonious assault.

The child's mother was treated at the hospital for her injuries. Hannah is not the child's father, and has no custody rights.
