COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--For the 2nd time in a week, Columbus's MLS team has changed it's logo.
Last week, owners and managers of the team, which was known as Columbus Crew SC, unveiled a new name and logo, which dropped the "Crew" from the team name, and would have referred to the club as "Columbus SC".
That move drew severe backlash from fans and supporters, who originally fought to keep the team from moving to Austin, Texas in 2018. Earlier this week, team owners met with members of The Nordecke, a group of team supporters. That resulted in the team reverting back to "Columbus Crew" as the name.
On Tuesday, the team updated it's logo and crest, which also includes dropping the "SC" from the team name. The number 96 was also added to the logo, indicating the team's status as a charter member of MLS, beginning in 1996.
