OSU Students Required to Report Vaccination Status By August 5th

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--Students attending classes this fall at The Ohio State University are required to inform school officials of their COVID-19 vaccination status by August 5th.

University President Kristina Johnson sent an email to the OSU community Tuesday, which also lays out other COVID-19 guidelines for returning to campus, with classes beginning August 24th.

Johnson says 70% of returning students, faculty, and staff have already been vaccinated.

The university is also offering prizes for students, faculty, and staff who get vaccinated, including football tickets, parking passes, gift cards worth up to $50,000.

Johnson also laid out testing requirements for students returning to campus, including those in fraternities and sororities. Students will need to complete a COVID-19 test at home, within 7 days before they return to campus.

Testing is also required when students arrive on campus. Unvaccinated students will be required to get a test once per week.

Masks are not required on campus for those fully vaccinated.
