Ohio State Requiring COVID-19 Vaccines for All Students, Staff

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The Ohio State University will require all students, staff, and faculty to be vaccinated from COVID-19.

University President Kristina Johnson says those affected will have to receive at least their first dose of the vaccine by October 15th. For those getting the two-dose vaccine, the 2nd shot will be required by November 15th.

She also cited the FDA's full approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Johnson says the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines would also meet the university's requirement.

About 73% of the university community have received at least their first dose of the vaccine.

For students, classes began on Tuesday, and they were required to get a COVID-19 test once they moved into their dorms.
