Inmate Who walked Away from Jackson Pike Jail Recaptured

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--An inmate who walked away from the Franklin County Corrections Center II on Jackson Pike is back in custody.

20-year-old Jacob Loper escaped custody around 9AM Wednesday morning, and was last seen in the area of Burgess and Broad Street, getting inside a waiting vehicle.

He was slated into the corrections center on Monday, and was awaiting transfer to the US Marshals service, on felony drug charges.

The Sheriff's Office says Loper was taken back into custody around 4AM Thursday morning. Officials did not release any details about his recapture.

The Sheriff's Office says they are conducting a thorough review of the incident.
