Two More Crimes Reported Near OSU Campus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--The crime wave near the OSU campus continues, with two more incidents reported since Wednesday.

Columbus Police say three juveniles stole a vehicle from a parking garage on E. Lane Avenue Wednesday afternoon. It led to a pursuit involving a CPD helicopter, and officers even had to deploy spike strips to get the vehicle to stop.

Eventually, the car was disabled in the Linden area, and the suspects were arrested. The perpetrators range in age from 12 to 14, and one of them had cut off their ankle monitor prior to the theft.

Then on Thursday, a robbery occurred near the intersection of East 12th Avenue and Summit St. The report says the male suspect approached the victim, pointed a gun at them, and demanded their belongings.

That suspect ran away, towards Chittenden Avenue, after obtaining the victim's cell phone and wallet. The victim was not an OSU student, faculty, or staff member.

No injuries were reported.
