MARYSVILLE, Ohio (WTVN)--Over a dozen people needed medical attention, after being exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide in the pool area of a hotel in Marysville on Saturday.
Ambulances responded to the Hampton Inn after a child was found unconscious in the hotel's pool. 16 people in all required medical care, with 9 taken to the hospital. Seven patients remain critical, with five others going to the hospital on their own.
Marysville Police Chief Tony Brooks says victims complained of dizziness and a burning feeling in their throats. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the high CO levels.
The hotel is expected to reopen on Monday.
