COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN)--In response to the order from a federal judge in Florida, rescinding the federal mask mandate on public transportation, officials at John Glenn Columbus International Airport and at COTA announced Tuesday masks are now optional at their facilities, and on buses.

In a statement, COTA says masks are still encouraged by the CDC, and says enforcement will be inconsistent for a short time, while word spreads of the order.

Airport officials caution that other cities may still have their own set of mask rules in place, so bringing a mask is still recommended for traveling.

In both instances, at CMH and with COTA, the optional mask advisory is for both customers and employees.
