Gregory Scott McComb is chairman, president and CEO of Heartland Bank located in Whitehall, Ohio. Heartland Bank currently has $1.6 billion in assets and 18 branches in the Columbus Metro Market and Northern Kentucky. Scott joined Heartland in 1999 after being an entrepreneur for over 10 years. His first position was director of Internet Banking, charged with launching the first Internet Bank offering by a community bank in the Columbus area. Scott was then made part of the senior management team for Heartland Bank serving all aspects of the bank as senior vice president in charge of Customer Relationship Management. He was then promoted to EVP/COO in 2004, president in 2008, CEO and vice-chairman in 2009, and chairman of Heartland Bank and Heartland BancCorp in 2011.
Scott has a BA in sociology from The Ohio State University, and he is a graduate of the Ohio School of Banking, the OBA Leadership Institute, and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Scott served on the USO of Central and Southern Ohio Board as past chair, on the CBAO (Community Bankers Association of Ohio) Executive Committee and Board of Directors, as past chairman of ICBA BancCard (Independent Community Bankers Association) and as past board member of TCM Bank of Tampa, Florida. Scott is also a board member for the Ohio Legal Defense Foundation, a current board member of the James Foundation at The Ohio State University, chairman of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus Investment Committee, and he serves on the ICBA Board of Directors. Scott was recently elected the 2021 CBAO chairman. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks and is a 33rd Degree Mason – the highest honor in that organization. Scott resides in Blacklick, Ohio, with his wife, Amy, of 31 years. Their daughter, Kailyn, joined Heartland in 2017 and represents the third generation of the family to serve Heartland. Son, Parker, is a PGA teaching professional on staff at Scioto Country Club.
