HISTORY
Jim Weber II opened the first Ohio Mulch retail store on April 1, 1984 in Blacklick, Ohio. In the fall of 1991, he began manufacturing his own high-quality hardwood mulches. At that time he developed a production line that bagged products. While the client base and business continued to grow to include major retailers such as BP, Home Depot as well as large landscape companies, garden centers, and nurseries, Jim consistently built retail stores throughout central Ohio. In an effort to sustain the growing demand for Ohio Mulch and to continually increase production capabilities.
Jim moved production from Blacklick, Ohio to a larger facility on the southeast side of Columbus, where the corporate offices are currently located. In July of 1997, Ohio Mulch opened in South Georgia, where Ohio Mulch produces Cypress, Pine, and Cedar mulch. These products are shipped via rail-car to Ohio. After 30 years in business Ohio Mulch currently has 24 retail stores and production facilities in South Georgia, North Kentucky, Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus that manufacture high-quality mulch.
