Disney's upcoming live-action version of Beauty and the Beast is going to have what director Bill Condon described as a, quote, "exclusively gay moment," which will be a first for Disney. The revelation came in an interview about the film with British gay lifestyle magazine Attitude. The character of LeFou, a sidekick to Gaston who's played by Josh Gad, will have a small subplot about his sexuality. Condon explained: "LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. He's confused about what he wants. It's somebody who's just realizing that he has these feelings. And Josh makes something really subtle and delicious out of it. And that's what has its payoff at the end, which I don't want to give away. But it is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie."
