Transformers: The Last Knight star Mark Wahlberg has beat out Dwayne Johnson for top billing on Forbes’ highest-paid actor list. He reportedly lands on top thanks to Transformers and Daddy’s Home 2.
Last year, the rapper formerly known as Marky Mark brought home a jaw-dropping $68 million, besting The Rock, who raked in a still-astounding $65 million. Coming in third is Johnson’s The Fate of the Furious co-star Vin Diesel, with $54.5 million.
Rounding out the top five is Adam Sandler, at No. 4 with $50.5 million and Jackie Chan with $49 million.The top 10 male actors banked a total $488.5 million, almost three times that of their female counterparts, who brought in $172.5 million.Even more striking, Hollywood’s 14 highest-paid actors all make more than Hollywood’s top-paid actress, the Oscar-winning Emma Stone, who pulled in $26 million last year.One-fifth of this year’s list is comprised of newcomers: Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo. Hemsworth, Renner and Ruffalo have the Avengers movies to thank for their hauls.
