Cali wild fires grow

Two wildfires burning in Northern California are threatening some 10,000 homes, with the blazes having burning seven homes by last night (July 30th) and some 107 square miles of rural land. About 10,000 people have been warned to evacuate. Those twin fires are about 100 miles from the Carr Fire, which has killed six people, including two firefighters and two children, and burned more than 800 homes, having become the ninth most destructive wildfire in California history. However, fire officials said they had contained about 23 percent of it, and were hopeful they'd be able to make more progress. The Carr fire and the twin fires are among 17 burning across California, stretching fire crews to the limit.

The fires are so hot and large, they are creating their own climate...
