Building trust in police

Texas has passed a new law that requires students to watch a 16-minute video on how to act when stopped by police in order to graduate high school. Democratic State Senator Royce West, who wrote the legislation and appears in the video, says the goal is to define how citizens and police are expected to act during traffic stops, and that it's designed to, quote, "make certain that the trust factor between law enforcement and citizens is stronger than ever." In the video, two teenage girls are shown being pulled over after speeding, along with clips of officers explaining procedures and answering questions asked by teens. The teachers' curriculum for the video includes guiding questions, and is divided into sections on the role of law enforcement, citizens' rights, proper behavior and filing a complaint

The senator really likes video... he pushed for body cams a few years back.
