I guess Ross really needed a beer. Friends fans have swamped U.K. police with tongue-in-cheek tips after the Blackpool Police Facebook page shared a photo of a David Schwimmer-lookalike stealing a case of beer. Even Schwimmer weighed in on Twitter, pleading complete innocence.
"Do you recognize this man?" the post read, accompanied by a photo of the alleged criminal. "We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September."
"I don't think it's been this guy's day, his week, his month or even his year..." one commenter wrote, a reference to Friends’ catchy theme song. Another joked, in reference to a famous comment he made on the show: "Lay off him. He grew up with Monica. IF YOU DIDN'T EAT FAST YOU DIDN'T EAT."
Police joined in the fun, writing that they “confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way."
