I'm so happy the weather is changing, becuase for me that means golf. I would always rather play than watch, but in a little over a week, I'll be watching the Masters. Even with the tournament shuffle and The Players already come and gone, the Masters brings it in ways other tournaments just don't. Magnolia Lane, the blooming azalea bushes, the patrons, and the commentators on their best behavior... it just gets my juices flowing. The only potential damper is the forecast. Golf.com says...
"And it looks like patrons could need an umbrella for the weekend.
According to theWeather Channel, the forecast for Augusta during the Saturday of the Masters is calling for showers all day. The weather forecast says that rain showers are expected to be occasional during the third round of the Masters, as there’s only a 40 percent chance that it will actually rain that day.
No matter if there’s rain or not, there’s expected to be plenty of cloud cover during the third round. On the plus side, it will be 82 degrees that day."
Seems like the kind of weather I've been waiting for...
Listed below are the odds for the 2019 Masters per Sportsbook.ag.
Odds to win 2019 Masters (4/11/19)
Rory McIlroy 8/1
Dustin Johnson 10/1
Tiger Woods 12/1
Brooks Koepka 14/1
Justin Rose 14/1
Bryson DeChambeau 16/1
Justin Thomas 16/1
Rickie Fowler 16/1
Jon Rahm 18/1
Francesco Molinari 20/1
Jordan Spieth 20/1
Far be it from me, but on that list I like Francesco Molinari and Justin Rose. Of course, we'll see plenty of Tiger whether he's in the mix or not and given his play at the Dell World Golf Championships, it is somewhat merited. Molinari has been a beast ever since he won the Open Championship last year and Justin Rose has an Olympic gold medal in his showcase. No matter the outcome, I just hope we get some drama like the Golden Bear provided back in '86
